WHY I WEAR YOGA-PEDICURE SANDALS

I bought a pair of "pedicure shoes" about 7 years ago because my salon sold them--at that time they were under a different brand name. I never knew about the YOGA aspect until I decided to create Pretty Feet. That made them even more intriguing to me.

Using them for pedicures was, I learned, only the tip of the iceberg as a reason for selling these marvelous sandals. Many yoga instructors like them because they balance the body by spreading the toes and giving the feet more surface and stability.

I wear mine often just as a daily shoe because of the stability they give me. I find my posture and balance are better. I stand straighter; and I don't trip as much. A great product and I am proud to sell a product that I have used for so long!

KEEP THOSE HEEL LIFTS IN YOUR SANDALS

I am often asked by my customers (espeically women in the summertime or those who live in warm climates as I do) how to keep the Adjust-A-Lift heel lifts secure in sandals or backless shoes.

Although the Adjust-A-Lift and the wedges and the new Kinetic Comfort Heel Pads were not designed to be worn with sandals and backless shoes one of my customers told me that she has had success with using a 3M double-sided tape to hold the heel lifts in place.

Just remember that heat from your foot and rising heat from the surface you are walking on may compromise both the tape and the heel lifts. But for special shoes that you are wearing for a fairly short time or if you don't mind replacing your heel lift more often that you normall would, I say go for it, ladies!

AND AN ANNOUNCEMENT: last week I was told by the inventor of the Adjust A Lift products that there will soon be a new product available that will keep your heel lift attached to those special shoes or sandals. . . . stay tuned!

HELPFUL USE FOR FULL SOLE INSERTS

TANYA SAYS . . .

For many years I have been insisting that I wear a size 8 in my New Balance running shoes. I tried an 8 1/2 as suggested by the clerk at the New Balance store about 4 years ago but it felt too big and I returned to wearing a size 8. That size 8 just felt more snug and secure. In the 8 1/2 size my foot felt like it could move around too easily and that made me uncomfortable.

I never associated the foot pain I had with the fact that that my shoes were too tight. The last time I bought shoes there I got a lecture from the fitter/clerk and decided to go with her advice for the 8 1/2 because it suddently dawned on me, HEY YOU SELL FULL SOLE INSERTS SO JUST PUT ONE OF THOSE IN EACH OF YOUR SHOES to see if that works to fill up some space and make my foot feel more secure.

Guess what . . . IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM. NO MORE PAIN!!! So when I started playing tennis again (after 18 years) I didn't even hesitate to put the FULL SOLE INSERTS into those shoes also and I play PAIN-FREE.

So ladies (especially) don't be vain like I was and don't live with pain in ANY of your shoes. Even if you don't wear the Adjust-A-Lift heel lifts or the other products, these simple, comfortable, long-wearing FULL SOLE INSERTS could be the answer to your foot pain!

See the SureFoot Testimonial from my Uncle Jun

Hi all, I just had to share this with you. . .

Look at the bottom of our blog to see the wonderful letter I got from my Uncle Jun (this stands for junior and Uncle Jun is what we have always called him but his name is actually Harry). He is my father's brother and though I can't reveal his age he is "up there" and the most fun, spry, go-go guy I know! As Jim says, "Uncle Jun always has that twinkle in his eye"!

I just had to post the entire hand-written letter as it is so dear. Besides giving us the weather, his breakfast menu and morning routine (he lives in Akron OH but drives himself often to Charleston SC and Omaha NE to spend time with relatives) he was anxious to write to me to let me know how much he loves his SureFoot Stepper.

I also love that he calls me "Golden Girl"--but when Jim read it he reminded me that it might not refer to my blond hair but my "golden" age! YIKES! Well, Uncle Jun is a bit older (HA HA) than I am so he must be PLATINUM! Love him to death.

Hope you all don't mind me sharing a very sentimental "family" contribution.

PS I sent him the cane after visiting with him for the first time in a number of years in Charleston in April. My cousin Max tried very hard, I think, to get that cane from my uncle. Well, I may just have to send one to Max too!

OrthopaedicList.com Blog for Fit Feet
May 16, 2009

OrthopaedicList.com is honored to be an Internet search source for the high quality products provided by Fit Feet Enterprises. A bonus has been working with Tanya and Jim Oosterhous, two most delightful people.
Although OrthopaedicList.com is a search site for products and services needed and prescribed by orthopaedic surgeons and related professionals, everyone is invited to visit. If nothing else, surfing this site can be educational. The content on our lists ranges from total joint replacement prostheses to items like the All-Terrain Steppers and the Adjust-A-Lift Heel Lifts. Access is free and requires no log-in, user name, or password. If you need help finding something, “Bones” (our walking skeleton) will try to help you.
A special service that we provide for physicians is our X-Ray Identification section. They use it to help identify devices that have been implanted elsewhere. It is especially educational to medical students, nurses, and surgical technologists, but patients and others can go there, too, to see examples of surgical devices that may have been implanted in them or someone they know.
OrthopaedicList.com currently lists over 9,000 products and services and over 2,500 companies and organizations, and new ones are added almost every day. We are also steadily adding to our services, so we invite you to visit often and take advantage of this free resource in your own search for items that you may need or information about them.
